Technical Theatre student, Aissa Simbulan, is the set designer for 6th Street Playhouse's production of August Wilson's Fences, opening January 12, 2024.
Aissa is currently a senior in the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance and has been a part of several of Sonoma State University's productions including: Pirates of Penzance, Eurydice, Fall Dance 2022, Once Upon a Mattress, WarCircus, Senior Projects 2023, and Super Mega Molten Hot Lava New Play Festival 2023 as well as shows outside of SSU such as: Rodgers's and Hammerstein's Cinderella, The Importance of Being Ernest, Sister Act, Silent Sky (all with SRJC's Summer Repertory Theatre), Sound of Music (Cinnabar), and Hello Dolly and Metromaniacs (Spreckels).

Set Model building for Fences
It has been a great opportunity to work on Fences. Juggling designing this show and school has been difficult, but I’m very happy with the design and I can’t wait to see actors populate the space. -Aissa Simbulan
