Peter Crompton occasionally teaches design and works as a guest projection and set designer at Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College. He relishes the varied collaborative aspects of theater, where constantly training people is a part of the job. It is his great pleasure to pass on his love of backstage theatre to students.
Peter is a freelance set and projection designer, and has won San Francisco Bay Area Critic’s Choice, Shellies, and Goodman Choice awards. He has also designed scenery and projections for SSU, SRJC, SFCM, Yucatan Symphony, West Bay Opera MFDP, Lamplighters, Revels, CCMT, Opera San José, Marin Theatre Company, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, SRT, Western Ballet, Jarvis Conservatory, Santa Barbara Opera, and Sonoma City Opera among others..
Peter also makes monumental sculpture with his wife Robyn and their sculpture installations can be seen in downtown Cotati, Paradise Ridge, and every October in ARTrails. and. Their garden is open every October for ARTrails. His sculpture can be seen at Hammerfriar gallery in Healdsburg.
