Dance Program faculty and students attend the American College Dance Association's Northwest Regional Conference
Dance Program faculty members Kristen Daley and Farrah McAdam and nine Dance majors and minors, Jada Dotsy, Alexa Duran, Madyline Jaramillo, Olivia Keydeniers, Jennifer Martuscelli, Syndie Obergfell, Aleen Phelps, Emily Schwartzfarb, Alaina Wilson attended the American College Dance Association's Northwest Regional Conference at Weber State in Ogden, Utah from March 5-10, 2024.
Six of the students, Jada Dotsy, Jennifer Martuscelli, Syndie Obergfell, Aleen Phelps, Emily Schwartzfarb and Alaina Wilson performed in Olivia Keydeniers's Stop. Go.. (2024) in the adjudicated concert and Emily Schwartzfarb performed their solo Changing Shape (2024) in the Informal Concert. Madyline Jaramillo and Aleen Phelps performed in Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company's ACDA Student Experience Only Ever Once (2024) in the closing night concert. All dance pieces shined on stage and captivated the audience. We are so proud of the student performers and student choreographers.
The students also attended multiple dance classes and scholarly presentations, soaking up so many dance forms and opportunities to learn and connect. Professor Daley and Professor McAdam both taught classes at the conference and reconnected with colleagues and met many new friends. The conference was a huge success and we thank everyone in the Department of Theatre Arts & Dance, along with the student club The Dance Collective, that helped make all of this happen. We are so grateful!
