B.A. in Theatre Arts with Concentration in Dance

We aim to develop independent, dynamic dancers who are able to work exceptionally well in collaboration with other performing artists and across disciplines.  Our vision for the dance program is an equitable model that combines theory and practice from a global lens. Students learn many styles and approaches to dance technique and aesthetics, including contemporary dance, improvisation, contact improvisation, kinesiology/anatomy, Bartenieff Fundamentals, yoga, pilates, somatic practices, as well as soft-skills in collaboration, building community, and sharing space equitably. We offer students the tools for an active and sustainable life in dance, including focused work that prepares students for the rigors of teaching dance.
