Celebrating the 2019-2020 Scholarship Showcase!

On October 19, thirteen Theater Arts & Dance students joined their counterparts from the Department of Music on stage at Schroeder Hall for Center for the Scholarship Showcase. The annual event is a highlight of the year, celebrating the exceptional work and potential of these students.

Dance majors Frances Henderson and Justin Brown performed Henderson’s original piece “Labeled Package.” Acting major Ian Smith presented audition monologues from Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry by Arlene Hutton and Shakespeare’s The Life and Death of King John, while fellow Acting major Vivian Knee presented monologues from Penelope of Ithaca by Kenny Finkle and Shakespeare’s Anthony and Cleopatra. Theatre Studies major Joelle Joyner-Wong presented on her original one-act comedy Cheers; and Technical Theatre majors Saylor Duckworth and Francelle Mariano presented on their individual stage management work on the department’s productions of Spring Dance 2019 and Candide.

Special thanks to Dance faculty Christine Cali for coordinating the Theatre Arts & Dance elements of the showcase!
