Check out this awesome project Scott Horstein has been working on during his sabbatical

Theatre Studies Director and Professor Scott Horstein has been on sabbatical this Fall. While on sabbatical he has been working on the project, IF I SHOULD WAKE (he is the dramaturg), which opened last night and is streaming online through Dec.10 (in two parts of 45 minutes each, exact stream schedule below). IF I SHOULD WAKE is a series of monologues fusing theater and film, featuring an ensemble of amazing writers, presented by the wonderful Greenway Court Theatre in LA.

Scott messaged us to say: "I'm really proud to share the work, and really grateful to everyone at school for the time and space to work on it."

Hope you're able to check it out.  And check out the wonderful Spectrum News clip covering the show!

A NEW WORLD PREMIERE PLAY IN TWO PARTS

Caught in the rupture between past and future, an ensemble of characters search desperately for rebirth: in dreams, in hash tags, in childhood diaries, in sidewalks that lead to nowhere.  Greenway Court Theater began its existence in the year 2000 with the world premiere of Sonnets for an Old Century by José Rivera, a series of monologues set in the afterlife which, on the verge of the new millennium, asked us to look backwards and make our case about the lives we had led. For Greenway Court Theatre's 20th anniversary, If I Should Wake fuses theater and film to continue that exploration and reframe it for the tectonic shifts of the present moment.
