Congratulations to the following three Dance Program student choreographers and their cast and creative crew who have been selected to represent Sonoma State University at the American College Dance Association Conference at UC Irvine/Baja Region, March 30-April 2, 2023. They will have the opportunity to perform their creative scholarship/dance pieces from Fall Dance 2022 (directed by Kristen Daley) through an adjudicated process and also be considered for the Kennedy Center Gala in Washington DC.

Madyline Jaramillo will present, Avenue, performed by a strong ensemble of eight dancers, and beautifully crafted through playfulness, musicality, intentional and authentic movement; reflecting the quote they chose, "Follow yourself with grace."

Marissa Salinas will present, Dominance, a brave and powerful quintet that indeed reflects the quote they chose, "I am in charge. I take my own power back."

Alessandra Jennings will present, The Water Cycle, a beautifully crafted trio, reflecting the fluid and dynamic qualities of water and the 'cyclical nature' of nature. The work indeed reflects the quote, "we forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one." - Cousteau

Kristen Daley, Farrah McAdam and Chair, Christine Cali will be mentoring their work as they prepare for ACDA and could not be more proud of all they and their dancers and creative teams have accomplished!!!!

Congrats to all involved!
